# How to write a CV that gets noticed

Employers often have a pile of applications to get through, so your CV has to make its point quickly. A few simple habits make a big difference.

## Keep it to one or two pages

Lead with your strongest, most relevant experience. If something does not help you get this particular job, cut it or shorten it.

## Start with a short summary

Two or three lines at the top: who you are, what you do well, and the kind of role you want. Write it for the job you are applying for.

## Show results, not just duties

Instead of listing what you were responsible for, say what you achieved. Where you can, include numbers you are confident are accurate, such as team size or targets met.

## Make it easy to read

Use a clean layout, plain fonts, clear headings and bullet points. Put your most recent role first.

## Check it twice

Spelling mistakes and wrong dates cost people interviews. Read it aloud, then ask someone else to read it too.
