The Position:
This is an excellent opportunity for cybersecurity attorneys eager to advance their careers and take on significant, substantive responsibilities in defending complex cybersecurity-related cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead incident response for cybersecurity and data privacy incidents.
- Manage client and carrier communications, overseeing breach response work by Associates.
- Collaborate with senior-level management and technical personnel at client companies.
- Analyze state, federal, and international privacy laws.
- Draft legal notices of data breaches to individuals and regulators.
- Respond to regulatory investigations arising from data breaches.
- Defend privacy lawsuits and provide guidance on privacy and security policies and procedures pursuant to HIPAA, GLBA, CCPA, and other statutes.
- Oversee forensics investigations and third-party vendors for e-Discovery, data mining, and notice projects.
- Advise clients on legal notification obligations under State/Federal laws and draft breach notification letters.
- Prepare Crisis Communications for clients and respond to inquiries and investigations by State/Federal Regulators.
- Interface with clients and provide reports to insurance carriers and clients.
- Supervise junior team members and manage legal budgets.
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school is required.
- Must be admitted to the bar in good standing.
- 7+ years of legal experience, with a focus on data privacy and security, particularly in data breach and incident response.
- Strong knowledge of data breach and privacy laws (HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, CCPA, GDPR, etc.).
- IT or technical background is a plus.
- Some litigation experience is a plus.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills (Lexis and Westlaw).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
Compensation:
- Pay Range: $155,000 - $185,000 USD, based on factors such as experience, education, licensure, geographic location, and other relevant considerations.
