We are seeking a Process Development Scientist to join a dynamic R&D team working on a high-impact product improvement initiative. This individual will lead process development trials and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and product development teams to drive innovation in the ready-to-eat food category. The ideal candidate will bring strong food engineering expertise, hands-on experience with pilot and factory-scale trials, and a scientific approach to troubleshooting and optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate process development trials at both pilot and factory scale.
- Collaborate closely with product developers, engineers, and manufacturing to ensure smooth transfer of technology.
- Develop and implement thermal processes (e.g., sterilization, retort).
- Maintain process documentation and generate detailed technical reports.
- Ensure equipment operation aligns with safety and quality standards.
- Support FDA filing of thermal processes as needed.
- Identify and mitigate process technology risks throughout development.
- Train and coach team members on technical processes when necessary.
- Act as the technical liaison across R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Engineering, Food Technology, or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in R&D within a food or consumer packaged goods (CPG) company.
- Hands-on experience with thermal processing technologies, including sterilization and retort.
