Our client, a leading global investment bank, is looking to make a key hire on their credit risk team specifically focused on non-bank financial institutions. This individual will join a highly collaborative team and play an important role in the underwriting and ongoing evaluation of risk associated with non-bank financial institution counterparties. The right candidate should have strong credit analysis experience, as well as in-depth knowledge of securitized products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth financial analysis to detect key risks and evaluate the strength of lending counterparties
- Lead the ongoing review and assessment of a portfolio comprised of residential mortgage originators, consumer finance and specialty finance
- Evaluate creditworthiness of various institutions through internal risk rating, due diligence and credit analysis
- Mentor and assist more junior team members as well as partner closely with bankers to delegate work, make recommendations and best meet the client's needs
- Keep abreast of wider macroeconomic conditions and their impact on relevant markets, cash flow scenarios and credit quality
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) in a quantitative field
- 7+ years commercial/corporate credit experience
- Formal credit training (analysis, documentation and transaction experience)
- Knowledge of mortgage-backed securities, securitization or mortgage warehouse lending
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders
