Pride Health is seeking a dedicated Clinical Dietician to join the Clinical Nutrition Services team at Houston, TX.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will develop, implement, and evaluate patient nutritional care plans, ensuring that the care is tailored to each patient’s age, cultural, economic, and social needs. You will also play a key role in educating patients and their families on nutrition and diabetes management, as well as participate in the development of educational materials for the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Nutritional Care Planning:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient nutritional care plans.
- Reassess patients periodically and adjust care plans as needed.
- Patient Assessment & Education:
- Conduct age-appropriate assessments for patients at nutrition risk, including diabetes management.
- Provide education to patients and families, assessing learning needs and readiness to learn.
- Adapt nutrition plans to meet specific economic, social, and cultural needs.
- Documentation & Collaboration:
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for quality assurance purposes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and participate in the review and development of departmental education materials.
- Quality Improvement:
- Monitor and ensure adherence to clinical nutrition standards.
- Assist in identifying deficiencies and formulating actionable recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Dietetics or Nutrition.
- Certification/Licensure:
- Registered Dietitian (RD) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is required.
- Licensed Dietitian (LD) from the Texas Department of Licensing is required.
- Preferred: CSP/CSPCC and/or CNSC certifications.
Experience:
- Experience in pediatric nutrition support is required.
- Experience in oncology nutrition is ideal, but not required.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and pediatric nutrition.
- Ability to observe deficiencies, assess patient needs, and formulate appropriate nutritional recommendations.
- Proficient with computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, nutrition programs).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information:
- Location: Houston, TX 77030
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30/5:00 PM with potential weekend coverage; 40 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Pay Rate: $35 - $39/hour
