Overview
Manage the general ledger, prepare for the annual internal audit, maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and support the Chief Financial Officer and Associate Treasurer with other projects.
Duties
- Help prepare monthly bank reconciliations for CFO review Accounts Payable/Receivable
- Prepare and review journal entries
- Maintain internal controls
- Lead monthly and annual close
- Lead audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
- Research accounting questions for compliance with GAAP
- Help manage cash flow
- Review and prepare invoices for approval and payment
- Prepare fellowship and other program payments
- Deposit fundraising revenue
- Periodically reconcile fundraising revenue with advancement team
- Manage credit card bookkeeping and reconciliations
- Create and maintain a compliance calendar
- File taxes and other annual required reporting
- Prepare payroll
- Assist with benefits management
- File 1099s
- Prepare Actuary Data for Pension and Retiree Health Plan valuations
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree
- Advanced excel skills
- CPA or CPA candidate
- 4+ years of experience with investment accounting
- Experience with non-profit finance and compliance
- Experience managing vendors
- Public accounting experience
