Staff Accountant

FlexTek has partnered with a Civil Engineering Construction company that is hiring a Staff Accountant! Great opportunity with a stable & growing company!

MUST LIVE IN HOUSTON- Fully remote once trained (office is in Spring, TX)

Long term contract with potential for permanent

Construction industry experience required

Strong Excel skills required/must be tech savvy

Work-in-Progress/Percentage of Completion experience highly preferred

Spectrum software experience highly preferred

The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills in order to best support the accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the department heads to understand and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting activity
• Journal entries, bank reconciliations, month-end close
• Inventory management, WIP, POC
• Assist in preparation and distribution of financial statements
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• At least 3-5 years' experience in Accounting
• Construction industry experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
