Associate Attorney

Bailey Cowan Heckaman PLLC (BCH), a well-established national plaintiff law practice, is seeking an associate attorney to join our winning team located in the galleria area in Houston, Texas. BCH is dedicated to the fundamental idea of helping people; we are passionate about standing up for the little guy and have recovered billions of dollars in verdicts and settlements on behalf of our clients. We are looking for someone with a strong hands-on work ethic and the same amount of passion about helping our clients by doing the best job possible.

Preferred candidates have either prior plaintiff’s asbestos, complex med mal, mass tort, or personal injury experience. This is an in person job in Houston, Texas. Travel will be required.

As an associate attorney with our firm, you will be responsible for:

• representing clients injured by exposure to asbestos;
• meeting with prospective clients to present the firm’s capabilities and assess overall case criteria for acceptance by the firm;
• coordinating the ordering of medical, military, social security, employment, and union records;
• research and investigation of jobsites, equipment, and products;
• working up assigned asbestos-disease cases;
• oversight and management of lien resolution;
• litigation, including complaint drafting, motion practice, hearings and depositions through trial;
• traveling within the United States to attend hearings, settlement conferences, mediations, etc.;
• client communication.

Must have strong academic credentials and bar admission. Strong case management skills required. Travel required.

Qualifications: Bar License

Education: Law degree from an ABA accredited US Law School
