The Cameron County District Attorney's Office is the state prosecuting authority for the Justice, County, and State District Courts in Cameron County, Texas. With a staff of over 100 personnel, the CCDA processes between 11k and 15k cases a year in the 10 Justice Courts, 5 County Courts, 9 State District Courts, and 1 Child Welfare Court.
Cameron County is the 13th-biggest jurisdiction in Texas. Home to South Padre Island and Boca Chica Beach, it is a mix of urban and rural areas that host several activities for all to enjoy.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant District Attorney in Brownsville, TX. The Assistant District Attorney will be responsible for litigating cases as assigned by the District Attorney. Assignment and compensation are dependent on experience.
Qualifications
- JD or LLM degree from an accredited law school;
- Be admitted to or in the process of being admitted to the Texas State Bar; and,
- Eligible to handle NCIC/TCIC information.
