Job Description
SUMMARY
Join a dynamic technical team at the forefront of citrus innovation. This role offers the unique opportunity to drive forward the development and commercialization of natural flavor and fragrance technologies. You'll work closely with global R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to support the full lifecycle of product development, from raw material evaluation through to pilot-scale process design and commercial rollout. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute strategies to enhance the technical capabilities of the Citrus Center.
- Support global flavor and fragrance R&D teams by evaluating raw materials and advising on equipment and process design.
- Oversee pilot- and production-scale process development for natural product separation, extraction, isolation, and reactions.
- Lead technical transfer efforts from lab to commercial scale, ensuring product viability and scalability.
- Serve as a technical liaison to ensure research protocols align with manufacturing processes.
- Travel occasionally (up to 5%) to support global affiliates and engage with clients and suppliers.
- Optimize manufacturing processes across global facilities, including Fit for Manufacturing reviews and process troubleshooting.
- Lead or support the full lifecycle of new equipment implementation—from design through commissioning and training.
- Provide hands-on support to maintenance, production, and QA/QC teams to resolve equipment and process issues.
- Uphold safety standards by ensuring safe process design, compliance with safety protocols, and participation in safety assessments.
- Manage analytical instrumentation to support raw material, intermediate, and finished product evaluations.
- Coordinate method transfers and ensure analytical alignment with global sites.
- Oversee daily operations at the Florida-based facility, including quality control for citrus production.
- Operate and maintain analytical instruments, review analytical data, and handle sample and product shipments.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support daily operations and continuous improvement efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Food Science required.
- 5–10 years of experience in citrus flavor manufacturing, process development, or laboratory environments.
- Proficiency with CAD tools and process schematics to support scale-up and commercialization.
- Hands-on experience with gas and liquid chromatography instrumentation.
- Training in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies strongly preferred; PSM knowledge a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a passion for innovation and commercialization.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and handle equipment and materials in varied environments.
- Willingness to work in diverse conditions including manufacturing floors, labs, and temperature-variable spaces.
COMPENSATION : $70,000 - $78,000
