Powerwell is a leading recruitment firm helping our clients discover top talent. We are recruiting for a Quality Technician. Candidates will need to be able to work onsite Monday through Thursday and have fiberglass manufacturing experience.
Job Description:
The QC Technician ensures that the products are made/manufactured per work order (WO), traveler, and/or drawings. Inspect products in the process (IP), complete hold points, do IP tests as required, hydro test, and final inspections. Communicate issues to upper management and work closely with the engineer/draft team and department leaders to meet customers/procedures requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee product quality to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and regulations.
- Make sure all the equipment is calibrated according to the stander/procedures.
- Communicate any issues with product and/or supplier on new or existing programs.
- Monitor work in process procedures.
- Make sure all production workers follow the WO, travels, and/or drawings.
- Perform dimensional physical and visual inspections.
- Receiving inspection and test of purchased items as needed.
- Work in Process inspection and test.
- Measure what operators cannot.
- Assist in the maintenance of the Calibration System.
- Work from and follow written inspection procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, & Requirements:
- A minimum of a high school diploma. Some college preferred.
- A minimum of two years of QC/QA experience and a desire to learn and grow.
- Possesses mechanical aptitude with the ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.
- Excellent reading and writing skills.
- Must have the ability to work within strict deadlines and under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Certificates and/or knowledge of the following are a plus:
- Knowledge about codes used in the Fiber-Reinforced Plastic (FRP) and plastics Industry (ASME-RTP-01, ASTM D3299, AWS, etc.) is a plus.
- FRP experience is an added advantage.
- Knowledge about Raw materials used in the FRP industry.
- Knowledge about test methods used in the FRP and plastics Industry.
- Able to communicate in Spanish.
