Job Description
SNI Companies is looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to support our client in the banking industry. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of prior accounting and leadership experience.
Pay Rate: $55K - $65K
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM (in-office)
Accounting Supervisor Summary:
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Accounting Team, ensuring financial records are accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable regulations. This role provides leadership and direction to team members and requires a solid knowledge of credit union accounting practices. Strong problem-solving abilities are essential, along with the flexibility to support and fill in for any position within the accounting department as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the Accounting Team to ensure an efficient workflow and accurate financial transaction processing.
- Collaborate with outsourced partners managing accounting and credit/debit card services to maintain accurate accounts, resolve discrepancies, and support audit processes.
- Conduct and review reconciliations of various general ledger accounts, ensuring financial records are accurately balanced and completed on time.
- Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with credit union policies and applicable regulations.
- Ensure all accounting activities comply with federal, state, and credit union regulations, including preparing required reports for regulatory agencies.
- Provide coaching, training, and ongoing support to Accounting Team members to foster professional development and uphold performance standards.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency within the accounting department by adopting best practices.
- Act as a backup for all Accounting Team roles, demonstrating a thorough understanding of each position’s responsibilities.
- Maintain compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and Customer Identification Program (CIP), while staying informed of industry updates, trends, and regulatory changes.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of relevant experience required
- Associate's degree in accounting or finance required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Knowledge of Credit Union products and services preferred
- Proficient Microsoft Office user
- Strong customer service attitude and good interpersonal skills
- Must be able to pass background check and drug test
