People Architects is excited to recruit for a Director of Human Resources .
Are you a bold, hands-on HR leader looking for a rare opportunity to take full ownership of the HR function at a growing company? A well-established, values-driven business in the Cleveland area is searching for a Director of Human Resources to build, lead, and elevate the HR strategy.
This is not a plug-and-play position. It’s a career-defining role for someone who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, drive change, and shape the people function in a business poised for growth.
You’ll work closely with executive leadership to align people strategy with business goals, own the employee experience, and create meaningful systems and processes that will scale as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support the company's goals and enhance organizational performance.
- Oversee recruitment processes to attract and retain talent across various departments as well as network for future needs.
- Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, promoting open communication while professionally representing the firm.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; update and maintain HR policies and procedures.
- Implement performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee performance and identify areas for development.
- Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Manage compensation structures and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and equity.
- Create and analyze HR metrics to inform decision-making and report on HR initiatives' effectiveness.
- Partner closely with project managers, field leaders, and corporate staff to align HR support with the unique demands of commercial construction management.
Qualifications (required and preferred):
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business objectives.
- Experience supporting employees in commercial construction, architecture, engineering, or similar project-based industries is a plus.
