Job Description
The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) is the national medical society representing emergency medicine. Through continuing education, research, public education, and advocacy, ACEP advances emergency care on behalf of its 41,000 emergency physician members, and the more than 150 million Americans they treat on an annual basis.
Located in Irving, Texas, we offer paid insurance plans (medical, dental, and vision), retirement, flextime, and more. This role is currently based in Irving, TX and is not open to remote applicants ; however, a hybrid schedule of in-office work and work-from-home is available upon approval by the manager.
The Associate General Counsel is responsible for assisting the General Counsel with legal affairs of the College, including but not limited to contract drafting, contract review, documentation and review of copyright matters, policy development, corporate governance, and legal training for ACEP staff.
We are looking for a candidate with experience with contract law, intellectual property matters, association/non-profit law, and risk management.
Our ideal candidate has…
- A Doctor of Jurisprudence and is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.
- A minimum of 10 years’ legal experience, including corporate governance.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects as needed without close supervision.
Other desired qualifications include prior experience with regulatory issues, supervision of outside counsel, dealing with legal counsel/senior management of outside entities, and experience supervising legal department staff.
