Facilities & EH&S Technician

We are looking for a skilled FT Facilities & EH&S Technician focused on maintaining the functionality, safety, and compliance of our facility. This dual-role position is responsible for hands-on maintenance of building systems and equipment, as well as ensuring workplace safety in alignment with OSHA, WISHA, and Washington State (WAC 296) regulations. The ideal candidate is highly experienced in both general facility upkeep and environmental health & safety standards, specifically in a production and warehouse setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilities Maintenance

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical (including 3-phase), and mechanical equipment.
• Conduct regular facility inspections to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Relocate and install industrial furniture, racking, and equipment as needed to support production and layout changes.
• Support special projects involving layout redesigns, facility upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and coordinate with vendors or contractors as needed.
• Ensure proper waste handling and removal from production areas (e.g., cardboard, foam, and debris) to support a clean and organized work environment.
• Provide general support for utility services and systems across the facility.

EH&S Compliance

• Ensure compliance with OSHA/WISHA, WAC 296, and relevant safety standards related to facility layout, material storage, walking-working surfaces, and emergency planning.
• Oversee safe integration of new production equipment, ensuring proper clearance, guarding, and employee access.
• Conduct safety inspections, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
• Develop and implement safety procedures, SOPs, and emergency response plans.
• Deliver in-person training to staff, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), chemical handling, forklift safety, and fire prevention.
• Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS), training records, and documentation of incidents and corrective actions.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, industrial operations, or EH&S roles.
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), preventative maintenance, and repairs.
• Familiarity with OSHA, WAC 296, NFPA codes, and manufacturing safety regulations.
• Forklift certification (or willingness to become certified).
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and training skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with maintenance tracking systems a plus.
• Preferred: OSHA 30 certification; experience in a manufacturing environment.
