Are you ready to shape the future of battery-operated smart tools? Continental Tool Group is expanding into this dynamic market and seeking an Electronics Technical Project Manager/Engineer to join our corporate engineering team.
This role presents a unique opportunity to be part of groundbreaking new product development (NPD) at an established company. Initially focused solely on NPD, the position will evolve into a mix of NPD and sustaining as our smart-tool line enters the marketplace.

What You'll Do:
- Act as the Technical Project Manager, including:
- Developing and reviewing architectural and design documentation
- Estimating project tasks, timelines and costs
- Managing external contractors to ensure work is fulfilling project requirements
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Lead electronics engineering design efforts, including:
- Developing architectural and design documentation
- Designing schematics and layouts
- Designing and implementing wired and wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, SPI, etc.)
- Developing PID motor control strategies
- Working with MCUs and DSPs
- Conducting root cause analysis for troubleshooting
- Designing in a controlled environment, ideally following ISO standards
What You Bring:
- 1+ years of technical project management experience
- 5+ years of electronics engineering design experience
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation
Preferred Experience (Not Required):
- Designing battery-operated handheld tools
- FPGA development
- Collaborating with external partners, including overseas
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related field, from an accredited 4-year university
