Job Description
Mackenzie Stuart is currently partnered with a leading Healthcare Real Estate operating company who are seeking an experienced Director of Procurement to join their team.
The Director of Procurement will lead the strategic sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management functions across the organization. This role is responsible for optimizing procurement operations, negotiating cost-effective contracts, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance in all purchasing activities. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in procurement strategy, contract negotiation, and vendor performance management within a complex, multi-site healthcare or real estate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals.
- Establish procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Oversee vendor selection, onboarding, and performance evaluation.
- Negotiate and manage contracts to ensure cost savings, service quality, and risk mitigation.
- Streamline vendor relationships to reduce redundancy and improve service delivery.
- Identify and execute opportunities for cost reduction and value creation across all categories.
- Analyze spend data and market trends to inform sourcing decisions.
- Implement strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier consolidation programs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Facilities, Legal, Finance, Development) to align procurement with business needs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Leverage technology and automation to improve procurement efficiency and transparency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8+ of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in healthcare or hospitality industries strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and vendor management.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
