Position Overview
As a Senior Superintendent, you will play a significant part in the success of our client’s Operational Function. You will be directly overseeing multiple Superintendents, and implementing ‘OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE’ within the field operations. This role is about EXECUTION, ensuring profitable and timely project execution.
A strong technical and practical background in SPECIALTY FOUNDATIONS and GEOTECHNICAL CONSTRUCTION is required.
Senior Superintendents set the core standards for Safety & Quality, manage Schedules & Costs, working hand in hand with operations to ensure smooth performance on the jobsite. You must have excellent COMMUNICATION and TEAM COLLABORATION skills.
Every day, you will bring your hands-on expertise to TRAIN, DEVELOP, and MENTOR the next generation of ‘true builders’ on some of the USA’s most notable, complex, and resume-building Deep Foundations projects.
Company Overview
Our client is a full-service self-perform Geotechnical Foundations contractor with a backlog of work taking them through to 2028 in the Southeast. Stable, secure and known as a ‘go-to’ partner for North America’s most engineeringly complex projects, our client’s expertise cover a wide range of specialty foundation construction for both structural and ground improvement solutions for public and private entities. Their services predominately include drilled shafts, micro piles, driven piles, auger cast-in-place piles, deep soil mixing, support of excavation, anchors, tie-backs, stone columns, and more.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and facilitate the growth of Superintendents by instilling 'operational excellence' aligned with our client’s core values
- Supervise and authorize monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
- Administer contracts, including organizing subcontractor meetings and field management communications
- Assess, authorize, and negotiate change orders
- Create a program to foster positive client relations involving onsite staff
- Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations for direct reports
- Review and approve promotions up to the level of General Foremen & Superintendents
- Initiate and participate in regular and ad-hoc client meetings for issue resolution and strategic planning
- Develop and execute a plan for project completion and turnover
- Maintain a daily diary for accurate record-keeping purposes
- Recommend organizational, policy, procedural, or staffing changes as needed
Qualifications
- 10 – 15+ years of experience in the planning, scheduling, and management of Deep Foundation and/ or other Geotechnical field operations.
- OSHA-30 Qualification
- Minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience as a qualified Superintendent/ Supervisor
- Keen ability to think on your feet and demonstrated track-record of problem solving
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Foundation/ Ground Improvement equipment
- Must be skilled in multiple Deep Foundations/ Geotechnical construction methods
- Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Adaptable to our client’s processes/ procedures and programs
