Estimating Manager

Position Overview:

Vantem Global is seeking a seasoned Lead Estimator / Estimating Manager with construction estimating experience to lead our cost planning efforts. This individual will oversee all aspects of pre-construction estimating, from conceptual budgeting through detailed takeoffs, with a strong focus on modular construction methodology. This is a key leadership role responsible for building pricing strategies, validating designs for cost efficiency, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver accurate and competitive estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of comprehensive cost estimates from concept through final bid
• Manage and maintain the historical cost database and unit pricing tools
• Collaborate closely with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Design teams to ensure estimates reflect real-world constructability and cost
• Evaluate early architectural and structural designs to ensure alignment with modular construction methods
• Drive standardization in estimating processes across all projects
• Mentor and manage junior estimating staff (if applicable)
• Provide executive-level summaries and risk assessments to support decision-making
• Support value engineering and pricing alternatives to meet budget goals

Qualifications:

• 12–15 years of experience in construction estimating (modular, commercial, or residential a plus)
• Deep understanding of building systems, construction sequencing, and cost structures
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Smartsheets, Sage Estimating, ProEst, PlanSwift, or similar)
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
• Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
