Job Description
Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has a need for an Interim (or Temp-to-Perm) Employee Benefits and Labor Relations Professional for the next 4+ months with possibility of converting to a permanent role (temp-to-perm) if desired.
Overview
Our client is seeking an interim Employee Benefits and Labor Relations professional to support a manufacturing plant of a global manufacturing company. This hybrid role is in a plant in Toledo, Ohio, and is pivotal in improving employee relations, helping employees understand and utilize their benefits effectively, and helping employees solve individual benefit related issues. The position requires 2–3 days per week on-site.

Our client is a global manufacturer of power technology company with plants across the globe.
Location
Hybrid – Toledo, Ohio (On-site 2–3 days/week; PPE required on the plant floor)
- This is a full time role, with possibility of part-time (25–30 hours/week) if preferred/needed by ideal candidate.
Required Experience
- 6-10+ years of experience working with employee benefits and employee relations
- Familiarity with labor law (law degree not required)
- Experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work on-site in Toledo, OH 2–3 days/week and wear PPE as required
Additional “Nice to Have” Experience
- Experience supporting unionized environments
- Background in HR transformation or change management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for employee benefits and labor relations at the Toledo plant
- Help employees understand and navigate their benefits, and solve individual issues
- Collaborate with plant managers and HR leadership to improve employee satisfaction and workplace culture
- Help to identify bigger picture issues that are leading to individual concerns and help navigate potential solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and rapport with employees at all levels
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
- Some knowledge and familiarity with labor law
- Strong communication skills
