The Role
As our Human Resources Manager , you’ll play a vital role in building and supporting a high-performance team while reinforcing a healthy, values-driven culture. You’ll own core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee engagement, and performance management. You'll partner directly with the executive team to ensure we attract and retain top talent while scaling responsibly and inclusively.
What You’ll Do
HR Operations & Compliance
- Maintain and improve HR policies, systems, and procedures in alignment with employment laws and best practices
- Manage HR documentation and records, including benefits, PTO, and compliance audits
- Ensure HR policies reflect the needs of a hybrid, project-based workforce
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for instructional design, creative, and operational roles
- Design hiring processes that balance speed and quality
- Manage onboarding to ensure new hires are set up for success
Culture & Engagement
- Support an inclusive, collaborative culture across remote and in-person team members
- Coordinate recognition programs, team-building efforts, and feedback loops
- Assist in rolling out internal initiatives (e.g., DEI, learning, and engagement programs)
Performance & Development
- Help build and refine performance review and development processes
- Provide coaching and support to managers on people issues
- Partner with leadership on organizational planning and employee retention strategies
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, ideally in a fast-paced or creative/consulting environment
- Solid understanding of California employment laws and HR compliance
- Strong communicator with emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust quickly
- A strategic mindset balanced with operational excellence
- Experience supporting hybrid and/or remote teams
- Bonus: Experience working with L&D, instructional design, or creative/agency teams
