Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience with UKG (UKG Workforce Ready a plus)
- Proficient in HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and other HR-related software.
- Minimum 1-2 years payroll experience in Texas, multi-state preferred.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) Highly preferred.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Experience with certified payroll preferred.
- 2 year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, related field or equivalent experience.
- Certifications (e.g., CPP, SHRM-CP, PHR) are a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and embrace new challenges.

The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for payroll, certified payroll, benefits administration, and management of the HRIS system across Texas including HRIS and Learning Management System maintenance. The Senior Human Resources Generalist will work a hybrid role from our headquarters located in Austin, Texas and report to the Director of Human Resources. This position is full time, non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay if available.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution.
- Process payroll data, including new hires, terminations, time and attendance records, benefits deductions, and other relevant information.
- Verify payroll calculations, including regular and overtime hours, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
- Coordinate with Finance to ensure accurate and timely payments to employees and relevant government authorities.
- Process certified, OCIP, & IRA payroll requirements, collaborate with sales and contract administrator as needed.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies from employees and provide timely resolutions.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance.
- Ability to analyze and reconcile payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
Compliance and Reporting
- Assist in decision-making, organizational development, and enforcing company policies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax reports and other required payroll-related filings.
- Stay up to date with changes in regulations and adjust processes accordingly.
- Collaborate with Finance and HR leadership to develop and implement policies and procedures.
HRIS and Systems Management
- Utilize HRIS systems to maintain accurate employee data, including payroll-related information.
- Establish active employee communication systems for all departments.
- Collaborate with IT or vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
- Assist in HRIS implementation or upgrades, ensuring data integrity and system functionality.
Employee Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
- Work closely with benefits providers to ensure accurate and timely administration of employee benefits.
- Administer monthly reconciliation of benefit invoices.
Employee Recordkeeping and Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including payroll data, time off balances, and personnel files.
- Ensure compliance with recordkeeping requirements and data privacy regulations.
- Assist in HR audits and support HR-related compliance initiatives.
- Complete special projects as needed.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted HR partner, providing guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters.
- Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints or misconduct and recommend appropriate actions.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations and update policies and procedures as necessary.
Performance Management
- Coach managers on effective performance feedback and goal alignment.
- Assist in identifying training and development needs and coordinate relevant programs.
- Manage the annual performance management cycle in HRIS
