Junior Project Manager
Job Description
The Junior Project Manager (Jr. PM) plays a hands-on role in the successful delivery of architectural railing installation projects by managing project elements under the mentorship of a Project Manager. This role is ideal for candidates who have outgrown a strictly supportive APM role and are ready to begin managing scopes of work independently, while continuing to grow into a full Project Manager position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Project Scope Execution
· Manage smaller scopes within larger projects (e.g., punch work, change orders, or rework) from planning to closeout
· Begin handling full-cycle management on low-complexity projects with oversight from a Project Manager
· Monitor project schedule and escalate variances with corrective recommendations
Communication & Coordination
· Serve as the point-of-contact for assigned scopes with internal teams (Design, Install, Shop) and external stakeholders (G.C., subs, vendors)
· Schedule and lead task-focused meetings and weekly check-ins for designated scopes
· Communicate RFIs, change orders, and updates clearly and professionally
Field and Site Support
· Conduct periodic site visits to assess installation status and field conditions
· Assist in coordinating material deliveries and field crew logistics
· Document job site issues and support timely resolution with PM and Install teams
Documentation and Reporting
· Maintain project folders and ensure drawings, submittals, and change orders are properly filed
· Assist in updating compliance trackers, fabrication logs, and delivery schedules
· Participate in project closeout including punch list tracking, warranties, and client sign-offs
Cost and Resource Oversight
· Track budget items and cost codes for assigned scopes
· Support procurement and vendor follow-ups as needed
· Flag cost overruns or delivery risks early
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
· 2–3 years of progressive experience in a project coordination or APM role within construction or architectural metal trades
· Familiarity with railing systems, field installations, and commercial jobsite environments
Technical Skills:
· Proficient with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook
· Competent in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and submittals
· Experience with MS Project or similar scheduling tools
· Basic understanding of fabrication, construction sequencing, and project logistics
Soft Skills:
· Clear and concise communicator—both verbal and written
· Detail-oriented, highly organized, and proactive in problem-solving
· Demonstrates leadership potential, ownership, and a collaborative mindset
· Comfortable working with field teams, internal departments, and external stakeholders
