Registered Nurse – Telemetry (RN)
Facility: University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton
Location: 219 S Washington St, Easton, MD 21601
Unit: Telemetry 2810-10792
Start Date: July 14, 2025 (or ASAP)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night – 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Auto Offer: Yes – No interview required
Position Summary
This is a night shift travel assignment for a Registered Nurse experienced in Telemetry nursing at a community hospital setting. The RN will provide care to a wide range of cardiac, respiratory, and neuro patients, following telemetry monitoring protocols in a high-acuity unit.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience
- Travel experience is required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Licensure:
- Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license required at submission
- Certifications (Required):
- BLS – AHA only
- ACLS – AHA only
- NIHSS
- CPI – Calm Every Storm version preferred (can be completed on-site during orientation if not in hand)
- Charting System:
- Epic (Preferred)
Scheduling & Floating
- Schedule Type: Self-scheduling
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend – 4 weekends in a 4-week scheduling cycle
- Patient Ratio: 1:5 typical, may go up to 1:6 with low acuity (rare)
- Holiday Requirement: As scheduled
- Floating: Required within Telemetry or lower-acuity units – no restrictions

IV & Line Management:
- Starting IVs
- Central & Peripheral Line Care
- PICC line management
- Accessing Ports*
- Phlebotomy*
Respiratory Support:
- BIPAP/CPAP
- HFNC
- Oxygen Therapy (face masks, tanks, nasal cannula)
- Tracheostomy Management
- ABG Interpretation
Cardiac Monitoring:
- Interpretation & management of dysrhythmias
- Titrate cardiac drips*
- Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath
- Post Cardiac Angiogram*
- TR Band Management
Neurological/Psych:
- Stroke
- CVA management
- Pre/Post Neurosurgery*
Other Competencies:
- Isolation precautions
- Heparin protocols
- Wound care/Wound Vac
- Feeding tube management
- Surgical drains
- Total Joint Replacements*
- Renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis care
- IV insulin protocols*
