Shift Information:
7:00am -3:30pm
Cath and Angio Lab Specific Requirements
- Current New Hampshire RN license required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required (except for Pre-Admission Testing and Operating Room)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or must be obtained before completing orientation
- Graduate of an approved nursing program preferred
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of Cath Lab experience
- 3 years of critical care experience preferred
- Assist with the insertion of Flow wire, Opsens, and IVUS
- Demonstrate understanding of contraindications and reversal for IV adenosine infusion
- Administer procedural sedation safely; pass an annual sedation exam
- Document sedation in accordance with policies and procedures

Summary
The RN develops an overall view of patients, families, and caregivers, and establishes strong partnerships to deliver optimal care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.
- Provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned hospital unit, supporting medical care as directed by medical staff and in line with hospital policies and objectives.
- Completes all unit-specific competencies and requirements necessary for caring for critically ill patients.
- Actively involved in quality improvement planning and processes.
- Ensures comprehensive clinical documentation and timely completion of care plans for all assigned patients.
- Seeks and incorporates feedback into practice.
- Demonstrates knowledge of current practice standards (ANA, NH Nurse Practice Act, Specialty Standards).
- Communicates appropriate patient information for continuity and safe care during handoffs, walking rounds, and provider interactions.
- Promotes a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff by adhering to established procedures and protocols.
- Implements available patient safety resources and initiatives.
- Follows Just Culture principles to support safe practice and error reporting.
- Uses the appropriate chain of command to resolve issues.
- Conducts hourly rounding in collaboration with LNAs for all assigned patients.
- Identifies and addresses patient care safety concerns.
- Recognizes and praises excellent performance among colleagues.
- Builds respectful relationships by proactively addressing concerns, suggestions, and compliments.
- Collaborates across units and shifts to resolve conflicts timely.
- Engages nurses from other units to access cross-specialty expertise.
- Maintains professionalism and a positive attitude, even during challenging circumstances.
- Proactively supports the team, including volunteering for admissions or assignment adjustments.
- Practices shared governance principles aligned with unit and organizational philosophies.
- Contributes to conflict resolution and problem-solving efforts.
- Delegates care and unit tasks appropriately to nursing personnel.
- Collaborates in planning, supervising, and mentoring nurses and assistants.
- Works constructively with nursing students and instructors.
- Participates in peer reviews and survey readiness (e.g., DNV).
- Embodies the SPIRIT values of St. Joseph Hospital and holds peers accountable.
- Avoids unauthorized overtime and manages earned time off (ETO) per policy.
- Performs other duties as appropriate to the role.
Job Requirements
Job Knowledge and Skills
- Basic Dysrhythmia (preferred or must be obtained before completing orientation)
- NIHSS certification (preferred or must be obtained before completing orientation)
- Call required for Cath Lab and Stress Lab
