WCS Healthcare is currently seeking a Med/Surg Nurse for a contract assignment at a Prestigious Hospital in Rochester, NY.  

Job Function:  

• Day Shift or Night Shift.
• 3x12.
• Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications.    
• Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.  
• Educates patients on surgical procedures; Records patients’ medical information and vital signs.  
• Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets and records electronic displays.  

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).

• Current RN license in the state of New York.

• 2 years of acute care Medical/Surgical RN experience required.

• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required.

• Telemetry experience required, including telemetry interpretation.

• Orthopedic nursing experience required.

• Experience in a Level 1 trauma facility preferred.
