Position Title: Line Cook
Location: Bowery
Position Summary: As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality dishes and maintaining a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. You will work closely with a team of chefs and kitchen staff to deliver an exceptional dining experience by preparing, cooking, and plating dishes that meet the restaurant’s standards.
Main Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and mixing to ensure that all components are ready for cooking.
- Follow recipes and cooking instructions meticulously to guarantee consistent quality and flavor in every dish.
- Cook food using various methods, including grilling, frying, sautéing, and baking, depending on the dish requirements.
- Prepare sauces, dressings, and other essential components for menu items.
- Plate dishes attractively in accordance with the restaurant’s presentation standards.
Station Management:
- Set up and stock your assigned station with the necessary ingredients and equipment before service begins.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace throughout your shift, adhering to the best practices for kitchen operations.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food items to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
Food Safety and Sanitation:
- Comply with all food safety regulations and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Prepare and store food safely to prevent contamination and ensure product quality.
- Regularly clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
Teamwork and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with fellow kitchen staff, including chefs and sous chefs, to ensure efficient food production.
- Communicate clearly with kitchen staff regarding order tickets, food preparation needs, and any tasks that require attention.
- Assist with other kitchen duties as needed to promote a harmonious and efficient workspace.
Other Duties:
- May assist in inventory management and the restocking of necessary supplies to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
- Participate in end-of-day cleaning and closing duties to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen area.
- May have shift in different assigned station
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required .
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering quality food.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- prefer but not required to speak Spanish and English
