Job Description
Project Kuiper is launching a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
Have you ever wanted to become involved in the global rollout of satellite earth stations for a high-performance satellite constellation? We are looking for a Satellite Ground Technical Operations Engineer to join Project Kuiper's ground gateway terminal operations team. You will lead efforts to ensure high performance ground gateways are able to continuously serve our broadband customers by investigating faults and anomalies, both remotely and on-site at our gateway terminals. This position may require access to information, technology, or hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). S. permanent resident (i.e., S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Perform on-site fault analysis and troubleshooting of gateway antennas
* Perform software updates/upgrades of antenna components
* Manage tactical interactions with partners to ensure milestones, deliverables, and technical artifacts are technically compliant with project objectives and programmatic requirements.
* Develop team training plans and materials.
* Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks and change control.
* As a Gateway Terminal Technical Ops Engineer, you will provide both remote and on-site leadership to analyze, fix, and maintain our gateway antennas across the world. You will address tickets generated by our automated monitoring systems; You must be willing to travel (up to 50%) to our gateways in order to address physical problems and troubleshoot faults and anomalies. The Ground Systems team is responsible for the architecture, design, build, installation, and operation of globally located Kuiper Ground and TTnC terminals. Our Ground Gateways enable high data rate, low latency communications between Kuiper points of presence and our Low Earth Orbit Satellite constellation. The team works closely with Ground Infrastructure Services, Networks, Regulatory, Payload Test, and RF Systems teams to ensure Kuiper provides a seamless customer experience.
5+ years experience working in satellite communications ground systems and operations
- 3+ years of work experience in design and commission of radio/mobile telecommunications/RAN installations or SATCOM earth stations.
- 2+ years of network integration experience in troubleshooting and on-site support.
- Bachelor's Degree in RF, Aerospace, or other technical discipline or equivalent experience
Experience with satellite communications earth stations or network development, deployment, and operation
- Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish
