Tax Director (Alternative Asset Management)
Our client is a global Investment Fund based in NYC currently seeking to add a Tax Director to lead their Tax Reporting & Accounting Team. The ideal individual will partner with the Head of Tax and work closely with the CFO to provide expert assistance with respect to all Tax Accounting/Reporting and Tax Compliance related matters. This is a newly created role, working with the firm's Executives, who will play a pivotal role in Executive leadership and drive the policies and procedures for the Tax Group moving deeper into 2024 and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for tax accounting, internal and external reporting, disclosures, and forecasting.
- Review partnership allocations of income for investment partnerships and issue K-1s to investors.
- Ensure tax provisions are calculated accurately and in accordance with US GAAP & SOX.
- Work closely with the Tax Managing Director on tax structuring for various clients of different tax profiles.
- Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including estimates and planning, for public & private entities.
- Monitor legislative changes in tax laws that may impact the firm’s tax positions.
- Review complex tax returns.
- Advise the Management Team on the tax implications of their business objectives, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Tax or Accounting.
- CPA/MBA and/or MST not required (strongly preferred).
- 7+ years of partnership tax experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate and public accounting experience.
- Well versed in Corporate, S-Corp, and/or Partnership returns including SEC.
- Experience with Alteryx, Power Automate, or Power BI.
