Summary:
CCM, a firm specializing in Procurement Managed Services and Vendor Management, is seeking a Senior Director of Procurement, Client Engagements, who will be directly assigned to support procurement operations for leading AmLaw firms.
Role Overview
The Senior Director, Procurement leads a managed services team responsible for the oversight of global procurement of non-legal expenditures and other projects on behalf of assigned clients. The role will need to apply procurement acumen within a non-centralized procurement environment as a trusted advisor/partner to business stakeholders for effective results. This position will also be tasked with deepening procurement’s visibility within assigned clients on a global basis.
Client Engagement & Management Responsibilities
- Develop and lead global procurement strategies that reduce costs, mitigate risks, and enhance compliance.
- Oversee sourcing initiatives, including RFPs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with client executives and stakeholders to optimize procurement processes and drive business value.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and risk mitigation.
- Demonstrate expertise in managing in scope categories, particularly category strategy development and implementation, stakeholder management, and supplier relationship management.
- Guide senior leadership and cross-functional teams in executing short- and long-term sourcing strategies.
- Monitor and enhance supplier performance, diversity initiatives, and economic impact reporting.
- Drive improvement across spend in terms of service levels and cost savings. Identify and track savings initiatives.
- Stay informed on market trends, emerging technologies, and supply chain developments.
- Build and maintain a multi-functional network of stakeholders (upstream, downstream, and peer) to ensure that any strategy supports the needs of the business, and to facilitate initial buy-in, ongoing engagement, and support for execution of the global strategy at all levels.
- Ensure alignment between procurement strategy and business needs, fostering stakeholder engagement at all levels.
- Provide expertise across multiple categories, including IT, HR, Facilities, Capital, Contingent Labor, and Operational Supplies.
- Perform other duties as needed to support business objectives.
Other Responsibilities
- Identify and communicate internally concerning opportunities for business development at assigned clients.
- Project management in conjunction with the assigned Manager(s) using CCM technology.
- Ensure project plans and all appropriate steps are executed.
- Maintain an aggressive focus on achieving overall project and client cost savings.
- Meet revenue targets of all assigned engagements.
- Collaborate with leadership and other departments (IT, procurement) to ensure integration of all services promised to clients, such as building a procurement function.
- Support development of new policies and procedures to drive savings and lead organizational and operational change management within managed categories of spend.
- Mentor and develop assigned CCM Managers.
- Assist senior management in revenue expansion and engagement profitability.
- Utilize CCM technology for effective engagement management.
- Ensure clear communication of project interdependencies, risks, and optimization opportunities to cross-functional teams.
Education And Experience
- BA / BS degree in business administration, supply chain, engineering or related field required
- 15+ years’ combined experience in Procurement, preferably in an AM Law 100 firm.
- 10+ years’ executive/senior procurement management experience
Knowledge/Skills
- Demonstrated experience with sourcing and procurement in legal or professional services industry.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, capable of quickly building trusting relationships, collaborating effectively cross-functionally, and influencing and guiding stakeholders in decision making.
- Motivated, high-energy, curious, self-starter and strong business mindset.
- Knowledge of multiple commodities (IT, HR, Real Estate, Capital, Facilities, Contingent Labor, etc.) required.
- Ability to understand and improve contract language.
- Strong consulting mindset and team leadership experience.
- Experience in supplier management and complex contract negotiations.
- Results-driven mindset and capabilities.
- Swiftly assesses risk, analyzes complex situations, and determines next course of action.
- Proficient with contract/procurement analytical tools, p2p systems, Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, data analysis and reporting tools.
- Certification in procurement (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
