Orion Solutions Group is partnering with a fast-growing third-party logistics (3PL) company in the Chicago area that specializes in High Value and Time-Sensitive Cargo. We are looking for a Head of Strategic Business Development that will manage the sales teams and support operations required to implement the organizational sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and accomplish financial objectives. They will implement processes, tools, and structures to support the sales organization’s operations.

Responsibilities: - Lead, manage, hold accountable.
- Develop and implement sales growth strategies.
- Evaluating performance and productivity.
- Manage the Sales Executives to meet new customers, grow revenue, and profit goals.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies for Sales Executives.
- Lead nationwide sales to achieve sales targets.
- Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
- Negotiate and close agreements with large customers.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
- Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities.
- Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs.
- Keep abreast of new product launches and ensure sales team members are on board.
- Create and manage budgets.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management or marketing.
- Previous working experience as a National Sales Manager for five plus years within the 3PL and logistics industry.
- Good knowledge of different business functions.
- In-depth knowledge of managing a high-performance sales team.
- Hands-on experience with CRM software.
- Applicable experience of sales performance metrics.
- Excellent leadership skills, including goal setting, motivating, training, and mentorship.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, speaking, and active listening.
- Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-oriented with strong negotiation skills.
- Analytical and data-driven problem solver.
- Must have an active driver’s license and insurance.
- Must be able and willing to travel overnight up to 30%.
