We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our hardware team working on future wearables, reporting directly to the VP of Hardware. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement in either San Diego or San Francisco.

Responsibilities

1. Mechanical design and development of cutting-edge wearable and other consumer devices, focusing on detail, precision, and design.
2. Coordinate product development with manufacturing partners across Asia, North America, and Europe.
3. Build prototypes, test, and iterate quickly to refine designs.

Minimum Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in consumer product design, working collaboratively with industrial designers, hardware engineers, and UX designers. Experience with wearables or mobile devices preferred.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (NX or Solidworks) for designing electronic components, enclosures, mechanisms, and batteries.
• Ability to rapidly prototype and evaluate designs using standard test equipment.
• Knowledge of various materials and scalable manufacturing processes, with a strong foundation in mechanics of materials.
• Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and experience with statistical analysis to troubleshoot and resolve engineering challenges.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and contribute to project planning.

• Salary range for San Francisco: $162,000 - $203,000
