Role Overview:
Within the Ads Performance team, we aim to connect the aspirations of Pinners with the products offered by our partners. This role involves developing and executing a vision for the evolution of the machine learning technology stack for Ads Ranking, including Candidate Generation, Lightweight Ranker, Engagement Modeling, and Conversion Modeling. You will tackle new challenges such as user sequence modeling, large models, embedding features, model quantization, utility alignment, application of LLM and multi-modal models, and domain-specific challenges like next-gen lightweight ranking beyond two-tower architecture, quota allocation, new engagement type modeling, RoAS optimization, among others, to enhance the ML models powering ad ranking and delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Develop state-of-the-art applied machine learning projects for ads ranking, focusing on lightweight ranker, engagement modeling, and conversion modeling.
- Design features and build large-scale ML models to improve user ad action prediction with low latency.
- Create new techniques for inferring user interests from online and offline activities.
- Mine text, visual, and user signals to better understand user intentions.
- Collaborate with product and sales teams to design and implement new ad products.
Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in building production ML systems at scale, including data mining, search, recommendations, and NLP.
- 2+ years of experience leading projects or teams.
- Strong mathematical and statistical skills.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
- Background in computational advertising is preferred but not required.
