About Your Role

We seek an experienced product design leader to develop and scale our design organization, overseeing our product's design. You will inherit a high-performing team of six designers and empower them to create industry-leading user experiences and AI-first innovations. You’ll report to the Chief Product Officer and work closely with product management, engineering, sales, marketing, and customer-facing teams to foster design excellence.

This role benefits from in-person collaboration in San Francisco, though exceptional candidates from elsewhere in the U.S. and Canada are also encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and scale a high-performance product design team, cultivating a culture of excellence and innovation.
• Lead AI-first design tool adoption and pioneer new development processes through AI-enabled rapid prototyping.
• Identify and implement improvements in product experience to differentiate us in the market.
• Develop innovative design patterns for AI products.
• Grow the team and build specialized design functions while maintaining high standards.
• Promote professional development within the team.
• Champion user-centered design and drive the company's design vision and strategy.
• Collaborate with engineering to enhance design systems and front-end capabilities.
• Work with marketing, sales, customer experience, and fund administration teams to deepen understanding of customer needs and coordinate brand and product strategies.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of product design experience, with 6+ managing and scaling teams.
• Proven track record as a director-level design leader in growing enterprise/B2B software companies, with financial or investment tech experience a plus.
• Interest in exploring AI-first design tools to transform software development.
• Experience scaling design teams (5-20+ people) while maintaining quality and culture.
• High standards for visual, interaction, and content design, with strong user empathy.
• Ability to nurture a healthy design culture within and across teams.
• Experience building and maintaining complex design systems.
• Track record of transforming product experiences to create measurable impact.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating growth from IC designer to influential leader.
• Experience transitioning teams from startup to scale-up practices.

Compensation

Base salary, bonus, equity, and benefits. U.S. salary range: $250,000 - 300,000 USD, based on experience, skillset, location, and local minimums.
