Opportunity: Task Force Chief Engineer

This opportunity provides a talented leader the chance to showcase their experience throughout the HHM Hotels portfolio as a Task Force Chief Engineer. The Task Force leader will lead and manage maintenance teams on property and provide short-term and long-term coverage as needed. This individual is expected to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and adapt to different projects in full service, luxury, select service, extended-stay, and boutique properties across a variety of industry-leading branded and independent hotels. This position requires flexibility for extensive travel throughout HHM Hotels' portfolio.

Essential Job Functions

1. Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values.
2. Conduct room inspections, and identify repair needs.
3. Manage and coordinate bids, quotes, and contracts for third-party vendors.
4. Oversee small projects, or PIPS, and manage and report on work progress.
5. Install or repair sheetrock and other wall coverings.
6. Paint designated areas and items.
7. Install and replace basic electrical fixtures. Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
8. Install, replace, and program televisions.
9. Perform minor plumbing functions.
10. Replace and repair heating and cooling pumps as well as perform preventative maintenance on units.
11. Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
12. Perform preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis and complete work orders as necessary; keep accurate records of PMs on all rooms and equipment.
13. Maintain the building exterior and 'curb appeal' of hotel grounds.
14. Refurbish, paint, and finish furniture and fixtures as needed.
15. Test, examine, and maintain hotel’s life safety systems to ensure they are 100% operational at all times.
16. Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records and coordinate compliance of service contracts.
17. Perform and maintain work to local, state, and Federal codes.
18. Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
19. Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
20. Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
21. Perform other duties as requested by management.

Position Requirements

1. 3 to 5 years of hospitality-related experience at a managerial level is required.
2. Previous Marriott or Hilton experience.
3. Ability to stay on-site for short-term or long-term coverage.
4. High School diploma and/or trade school coursework in a related field preferred.
5. Previous engineer/maintenance experience required or equivalent training.
6. Certifications may be required.

Work Environment and Context

1. Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends or alternate shifts.
2. 100% travel to hotels throughout the United States is required.
3. Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

The compensation range for this role is $85,000.00-$90,000.00, and the salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience within the hospitality industry. HHM Hotels offers a competitive salary package aligned with market standards, with the highest potential earnings for candidates with 5 years of relevant experience.
