Director of Sales

Job Description
UAM Director of Sales is ultimately responsible for marketing and selling our aviation component inventory to customers worldwide in a timely manner. This includes growing and developing the customer base, which comprises airlines, MROs, OEMs, and other companies involved in buying and selling aircraft components. UAM Sales operates under a "people-to-people" business model where relationships and customer service distinguish us from other industry players.
These responsibilities include:
- Establishing and growing relationships with customers to meet all account goals, prioritizing customer service
- Meeting monthly and quarterly sales targets
- Supporting outside sales with customer data and quote history
- Receiving RFQs and customer inquiries
- Providing quotes to customers and following up
- Negotiating sales prices to close deals
- Maintaining contact with customers to develop further business opportunities
- Leading morning meetings with the sales operations team to coordinate daily activities
- Assisting Credit and Collection Manager in obtaining payments
- Identifying customer requirements, issues, and needs; finding solutions and seeing them through to completion
- Using creativity to improve the sales process with a focus on continuous improvement
- Generating calls to build relationships with new customers
- Identifying new customers and opportunities, including airlines and other aviation companies interested in purchasing components
- Reporting sales activity and results to management through data analysis and summaries
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending training, industry workshops, and staying informed on industry news and trends
- Overseeing disassembly and consignment sales projects
- Collaborating with sales and repairs teams to determine repair spend per aircraft
- Setting objectives and plans to achieve sales goals monthly, quarterly, and annually
- Organizing the customer base and sales team workflow globally
- Setting and managing individual targets for the global sales team
- Liaising with Business Development to ensure proper pricing and updates on aircraft
- Creating and overseeing process standards within the global sales team
- Directing daily workflow for the sales team worldwide

At UAM, the daily sales and marketing activities of our aircraft component inventory are managed by UAM Account Managers worldwide. The UAM Director of Sales collaborates with these managers to achieve monthly sales targets.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Relationship building, excellence, negotiation, prospecting, sales goal achievement, creativity, planning, independence, motivation, leadership, customer service, and self-confidence
- University education, preferably with an aviation focus and a minimum of a Bachelor's degree
- Technical background and experience in records tracing for aircraft, engines, and major components (preferred)
- Sales experience, particularly in component sales, with a proven ability to foster and close sales
- Experience in establishing and building contacts and relationships with companies
- Willingness to learn about UAM products and services
- International sales experience and knowledge of global cultures
