Principal Automation Engineer – wifi

How You’ll help us to connect the world:

Our growing team is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test who is passionate about developing pioneering smart Wi-Fi products. You should be comfortable with the entire wired and wireless networking design and implementation.

You will have a strong background and hands-on experience in L2, L3, L4-L7, 802.11, and automation scripting. You will work with the team to build Wi-Fi controller software features and automate the software features on Access Points.

Responsibilities:

1. Building automation for wireless features and performance using Robot Framework, Python.
2. Developing wireless CI/CD pipelines to test WiFi performance on VeriWave and Spirent.
3. Collaborating with local and international engineering teams to create test automation based on existing test cases.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of QA automation experience for WiFi and L2/L3 switch products.
• Proficiency in Python, Robot Framework (Jenkins, GIT), and scripting languages.
• Familiarity with 802.11n, ac, ax, be 11 r/k/v, Dot1x.
• Experience with REST API automation and testing.
• Experience with Programmable Attenuators and Roaming.
• Experience with virtualization technologies and hypervisors.
• Knowledge of public/private/hybrid cloud (Openstack, GCE).
• Experience with wireless networking tools such as VeriWave, Chariot, Spirent, Ixia, and wireless monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with network protocol layers and network analyzers like WireShark, EtherReal, OmniPeek, Wi-spy, Aircap; Python, TCL-TK, Java scripting is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.
• Ability to write clear procedures, bug reports, and test reports.
• BSc or MSc in CS, EE, IS, Math, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional network certifications are a plus.

This is a HYBRID role based out of Sunnyvale, CA (3 days a week). Local candidates only.

Salary range: $135,000 - $175,600, based on experience and other factors. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), paid holidays, paid vacation, and other leave options.
