Role And Responsibilities
As a CAD Engineer specializing in Low-Power Tools & Methodology, you’ll join the Physical Design organization at the core of GPU IP development. The CAD/Methodology team supports vendor tools, develops methodologies, and automation that enable engineers to build world-class GPU IP for Samsung.
In this versatile role, you will apply your expertise in low-power tools and design methodologies, debugging, and scripting languages to develop industry-leading flows and methodologies for power analysis and optimization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors. Familiarity with verification tools and equivalence checking tools is a plus.
- You are highly skilled at low-power tools, design, and analysis. You have excellent debugging skills and are adept at scripting languages (Perl, TCL, Python, or Linux shells).
- You are a self-motivated problem solver who enjoys distilling complex challenges, including debugging failing power analysis jobs and dynamic power problems, by seeking root causes with a data-driven approach and bringing innovative ideas.
- You are a lifelong learner, eager to explore, experiment, and expand your expertise, with experience in GPU design processes and a strong desire to learn more.
- You are an excellent collaborator who proactively seeks synergy across teams and vendors to improve tools, features, and methodologies.

Skills And Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years with a Master’s, or 6+ years with a Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering or relevant fields.
- 5+ years of experience with low power tools and methodologies (e.g., Synopsys PrimePower, Empower, Ansys PowerArtist, Synopsys RTL-Architect, Cadence Joules_Studio).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Perl, TCL, Python, Linux shells).
- Strong debugging skills with vendor tools.
- Experience with verification tools (simulators/debuggers), especially Verdi (ZTDB/ZWD/FSDB).
- Familiarity with verification and equivalence checking tools.
- Knowledge of GPU design processes is a plus.
- Effective problem solving and communication skills.
Total Rewards
Base pay ranges from $174,557 to $305,414, depending on experience and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), onsite lunch, tuition assistance, paid time off, student loan programs, wellness incentives, and potential bonuses and incentives. This is an exempt position, not eligible for overtime.
