Job Description
Breast Imaging Director – Private Practice Central Illinois Radiological Associates (CIRA) is recruiting a board‑certified strategic leader to serve as Breast Imaging Director for a large comprehensive breast center in Peoria, Illinois.
The role collaborates with board‑certified breast cancer specialists—including surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology—and other specialty areas to provide individualized care.
Key responsibilities include
Leadership of the breast imaging department; administration of full‑field digital mammography with 3D tomosynthesis, dedicated breast ultrasound, on‑site breast MRI, and breast interventional modalities; oversight of a rotational Saturday morning diagnostic clinic; participation in CIRA’s enterprise worklist; optional diagnostic imaging duties tailored to the candidate’s experience; faculty appointment for teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and the University of Illinois College of Medicine‑Peoria breast imaging fellowship; cultivation of relationships with hospital partners, clinicians, employees, and patients.
Qualifications
Board‑certified radiologist with experience in breast imaging; strategic leadership skills; strong interpersonal and communication abilities; ability to practice quality medicine within a high‑volume setting.
Familiarity with breast cancer care teams and experience with advanced breast imaging technologies is preferred.
The director will be based at a large comprehensive outpatient breast center with satellite screening sites, affiliated with OSF Saint Francis Medical Center—a 649‑bed Level I trauma center—and the OSF Cancer Institute.
