Lead Organizer
Job Description
Job Summary
The Lead Organizer is part of the team and responsible for coordinating and facilitating efforts to organize bargaining units.
Participates in innovative activities that engage both current and potential members.
The incumbent provides recommendations, guidance, and direction for union officials and leaders.
The position acts as a liaison between management and Staff Representative/Organizers and the Organizing Committee members.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Inform best practices for compliance with the Council’s Organizing Plan Determine potential organizing activity Plan, coordinate, and attend organizing blitzes Evaluate potential organizing targets Mobilize and engage members Mentor and train organizing staff and volunteers Provide support to Staff Representative/Organizers Evaluate the Council’s Organizing Plan and provide recommendations for potential organizing activities Education and Experience
Two (2) years of successful union organizing experience.
Experience with Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Word Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
Able to lift up to 15 pounds, at times.
Prolonged periods of mobility.
Other Requirements
Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
Ability to work evenings and weekends Salary / Benefits
$30-45/hour.
Car allowance.
