We handle credentialing, privileging, malpractice coverage coordination, and all compliance requirements so you walk in ready to work The Role CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking two Board Certified Perfusionists to provide cardiovascular perfusion services at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System.
You will operate heart-lung machines and related equipment during open-heart surgery, organ transplants, and other complex cardiovascular procedures, ensuring safe and effective extracorporeal circulation for veteran patients.
What You Will Do Cardiopulmonary Bypass
Set up, operate, and monitor heart-lung machines during open-heart surgical procedures, maintaining optimal patient hemodynamics throughout Autotransfusion Services
Perform intraoperative blood salvage and autotransfusion to minimize allogeneic blood product usage Myocardial Protection
Administer cardioplegia solutions and monitor myocardial preservation techniques per surgeon preference and institutional protocols Patient Monitoring
Continuously assess blood gas values, anticoagulation status, hemodynamic parameters, and perfusion adequacy throughout each procedure Equipment Management
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot all perfusion equipment including oxygenators, pumps, heat exchangers, and monitoring devices Emergency Response
Provide ECMO and emergency perfusion support as required by the cardiovascular surgery service Documentation
Maintain detailed perfusion records compliant with VA documentation standards and ABCP requirements Collaboration
Work closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR nursing staff to deliver coordinated, high-quality patient care What You Bring Required Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited perfusion education program CCP (Certified Clinical Perfusionist) certification through ABCP Current BLS and ACLS certifications Minimum 2 years of clinical perfusion experience Proficiency in adult cardiopulmonary bypass, myocardial protection, and autotransfusion Eligible for VA credentialing and privileging Preferred Dual certified
CCP and CAT (Certified Autotransfusionist) through ABCP Experience in pediatric perfusion or ECMO Prior VA or federal healthcare facility experience Experience with ventricular assist device (VAD) management Compensation Details Pay Rate
