Dosimetrist - $15,000 Sign On Bonus Department

James | Radiation Oncology Scope of Position The Medical Dosimetrist functions as an integral member of the Department of Radiation Medicine (or its outreach/affiliates) of the Medical Center.

The team provides patient care and supportive services that are directed towards achievement of patient care outcomes through the integrated skills of all team members in the Department.

The Medical Dosimetrist, as a member of the team, is thoroughly familiar with geometric characteristics of the radiation equipment, radioactive sources commonly employed, and has the training and expertise necessary to generate radiation dose distributions and calculations under the direction of the radiation therapy physicist.

Operates and performs quality assurance on the treatment planning computer.

Position Summary The Medical Dosimetrist in the Department of Radiation Medicine is a member of the treatment planning team who measures, generates radiation dose distributions and calculations.

Qualifications Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in science and extensive experience in radiation planning, or registered Radiation Therapist with experience in dosimetry, or a BS in physical or biologic sciences.

Proton planning experience preferred.

Certified in Medical Dosimetry required, or certification needs to be completed within two years of hire.

Additional Information These positions will support the Proton or Photon Center at West Campus Ambulatory.
