Principal Test Development Engineer
Job Description
Job Description onsemi is looking for a Principal Test Engineer to lead test development and provide engineering support for Embedded onsemi Power Module (EoPM) new product development, ensuring robust testing and seamless transition to high-volume production.
Responsibilities Collaborate with Product Engineering and Manufacturing Test Engineering teams to support new product development and ensure smooth ramp-up to mass production.
Design, develop, and implement test software and hardware for EoPM products, with a primary focus on wafer sort development.
Establish comprehensive test coverage to eliminate test escapes and guarantee product quality.
Perform product characterization, analyze data, and deliver clear, actionable reports.
Drive innovation by exploring and implementing new test methodologies, hardware, and software solutions for EoPM devices.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Physics (advanced degree preferred).
Experience
Minimum 10 years of hands‑on experience in semiconductor test and/or product engineering.
Background in high‑power semiconductors and analog driver ICs preferred.
Familiarity with Teradyne ETS high‑power test platforms or equivalent multi‑site systems is a plus.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Visual C++ programming.
Strong background in test development for power semiconductors and IC drivers.
Strong bench‑testing skills using power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, and curve tracers for debugging.
Experience in dynamic testing of power semiconductors is an advantage.
Soft Skills
Excellent problem‑solving ability and capacity to work independently.
Strong communication skills in English (oral and written).
Effective team player with proven ability to collaborate across multi‑functional groups and global locations.
Additional Competencies
Solid technical project management skills with a results‑driven mindset.
