Director of Production
Job Description
Overview We’re looking for a highly organized and hands-on Director of Production to lead the execution of our apparel production from purchase order through delivery.
This role is responsible for ensuring that all products — both stocked and custom — are produced on time, on budget, and to spec.
You will manage factory relationships, oversee production timelines, and work closely with our product development team to bring styles from concept into bulk production efficiently and consistently.
This is a deeply operational role, ideal for someone who thrives in the details, moves quickly, and takes ownership of day-to-day execution.
This is not a strategic or conceptual product role — it is about getting product made, correctly and on time.
Responsibilities Production Execution Own end-to-end production process from PO issuance through final delivery.
Track and manage all open orders (WIP), ensuring on-time, in-full performance.
Identify and resolve production delays, quality issues, and factory constraints in real time.
Work closely with Product Development to ensure smooth handoff from sample to bulk.
Spearhead textile sourcing and development.
Serve as primary point of contact for all factories (domestic and overseas).
Manage day-to-day communication on timelines, capacity, and production status.
Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and payment terms.
Hold vendors accountable for quality and delivery standards.
Production Planning & Inventory Support Partner with internal team to execute against inventory plans and reorder needs.
Translate forecasts into clear production orders and timelines.
Monitor stock levels and production schedules to avoid stock-outs and overages.

Quality Control Oversight Oversee QC processes and ensure consistent product quality.
Work with QC team to identify recurring issues and implement solutions.
Ensure all production meets established specifications and standards.
Manage and support Product Developer, Production Coordinator, and QC.
Stay close to the work — this is a player-coach role, not a top-down manager.
Help build structure and accountability across the production function.
Qualifications 5–8+ years of experience in apparel production, sourcing, and supply chain management.
Proven experience managing production calendars, POs, and vendor relationships.
Strong understanding of garment construction, lead times, and factory workflows.
Highly detail-oriented and operationally strong — thrives in execution.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, in-person environment with constant collaboration.
Experience in B2B or uniform apparel strongly preferred.
