Consulting Manager, Asset Investment Planning

Black & Veatch is seeking an experienced professional to serve as a Manager within its Infrastructure Advisory organization.

In this role you will manage strategic asset‑management projects for electric utilities, focusing on asset investment planning, risk assessment, and value model development.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 7+ years in a business/consulting environment with demonstrated experience in electric utility engineering, operations and maintenance.

A master’s degree, professional engineer license, iAM certificate, and consulting experience with electric utilities are preferred.

The position is full‑time, located in a hybrid office/client site environment with the possibility of up to 100 % travel.

Key Responsibilities Develop and manage asset investment plans, portfolio optimization, and advantage monetization models for gas and electric utilities.

Apply risk analysis and benefit monetization methodologies to support capital investment decisions.

Prepare and present technical and strategic analyses to clients, lead workshops, and drive client engagements.

Act as project manager for asset investment plan projects, orchestrating tasks, resources, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.

Provide subject‑matter expertise in asset management, ISO 55001, and utility operations to recommend tailored solutions.

Support business development activities, including scope creation, scheduling, and budgeting.

Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in engineering, business, or related field Professional engineer license iAM certificate in Asset Management Consulting experience with electric utilities Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or closely related experience 7+ years in a business/consulting environment Experience in electric utility engineering, operations, and maintenance Physical demands include occasional travel to client sites and time spent in office environments.
