Interim CFO / Head of Finance (Venture Capital Fund)

We are partnering with an emerging venture capital firm in the early stages of launch, seeking a hands‑on finance leader to build and establish the firm’s financial and operational infrastructure from the ground up.

This is a highly visible, project-driven role with direct exposure to the founding team and the opportunity to transition into a long‑term leadership position.

Key Responsibilities Lead the buildout of the firm’s finance and fund operations infrastructure from inception Oversee fund structuring and coordinate closely with legal counsel on entity formation and setup Select and manage third‑party service providers, including fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors Establish financial reporting processes, capital call and distribution mechanics, and investor reporting frameworks Drive the firm’s RIA registration process and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance Develop internal controls, policies, and operational workflows to support scalable growth Partner with the founders on strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting Act as the primary finance point of contact for LPs, service providers, and internal stakeholders Qualifications 10+ years of experience in fund finance, preferably within venture capital, private equity, or a fund administrator Prior experience building or significantly scaling fund operations strongly preferred Deep understanding of fund structures, capital activity, and investor reporting Experience supporting or leading RIA registration and compliance processes is a plus Strong project management skills with the ability to operate independently in a startup environment Hands‑on, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves mentality with a strategic mindset Why This Role Opportunity to build a fund platform from the ground up Direct partnership with experienced founders High‑impact role with visibility across all aspects of the business Potential to transition into a permanent leadership position as the firm grows #J-18808-Ljbffr
