ORIC’s clinical stage product candidates include (1) ORIC-944, an allosteric inhibitor of the polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2) via the EED subunit, being developed for prostate cancer, and (2) ORIC-114, a brain penetrant inhibitor that selectively targets EGFR exon 20, HER2 exon 20 and EGFR atypical mutations, being developed across multiple genetically defined cancers. ORIC Pharmaceuticals is seeking a highly motivated and strategic leader to work closely with members of its Executive Committee to drive data-informed decisions, shape corporate strategy, and foster comprehensive investor relations outreach. Reporting to the CFO, this cross-functional role will collaborate directly with the CEO, CBO, and other executives to support two critical organizational functions: Strategic Finance and Investor Relations.

The ideal candidate will have background experience in biotech/biopharma as a banking/research analyst, investor or management consultant. This position is ideal for a dynamic professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can operate independently, and is looking to accelerate their career through frequent interactions with senior biotech executives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Finance:
• Lead strategic portfolio reviews and contribute to short- and long-term corporate planning, decision-making, and strategic vision.
• Develop and maintain the corporate financial model (P&L, valuation, NPV, DCF) to guide portfolio prioritization and decision-making.
• Conduct detailed financial analyses for business development, partnering scenarios, and financing activities.
• Monitor market trends and competitive intelligence to provide actionable insights.

Investor Relations:
• Shape the corporate narrative and foster relationships with institutional investors, analysts, and advisors.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive investor relations strategy aligned with company goals.
• Manage investor outreach, including roadshows, analyst meetings, and professional/scientific meetings & events.
• Oversee the creation of corporate communication materials such as press releases and presentations.
• Serve as the primary contact for investor inquiries, ensuring timely and consistent responses.

The successful candidate will embrace working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. He/She must have excellent interpersonal and writing skills, excellent attention to detail, strong understanding of the capital markets, the ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, and be adept at identifying issues & developing recommendations for key stakeholders.

Desired education and experience include:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field. Advanced scientific degree, MBA or CFA preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in biotech/biopharma or investor-facing roles.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to build relationships with institutional investors, bankers, and analysts.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills tailored for investor audiences.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in our San Diego location is between $250,000-$270,000 for a senior director level. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the title, type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.
