Job Summary:
The Director of Pension Investments is responsible for overseeing public equity and fixed income portfolios within Textron’s Defined Benefit Plans, ensuring alignment with the Plans' risk, return, and liquidity objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research new investments, conduct due diligence, and evaluate existing investment managers, monitoring portfolio performance and risk.
- Establish decision criteria for selecting external investment managers using quantitative analytics and qualitative assessments to minimize risk and streamline decision-making.
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize current and potential risk exposures; determine appropriate actions to monitor and control these risks.
- Present new investment strategies and manager recommendations to the Chief Investment Officer & Treasurer.
- Maintain broad market knowledge of the investible universe and external managers to ensure consideration of existing opportunities and high-performing managers.
- Collaborate with investment operations, legal, tax, and accounting teams to manage external public markets portfolios effectively.
- Execute portfolio transactions efficiently, monitor adherence to strategies, and suggest corrective actions when necessary.
- Diversify investments across asset classes to enhance portfolio performance and reduce risk.
- Prioritize operational initiatives to meet portfolio objectives within available resources.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees like MBA, CFA, CAIA preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in portfolio management, investment consulting, or related fields.
- Experience with Bloomberg and eVestment is preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ability to communicate quantitative data effectively.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong team player with good external and internal relationship skills.
- Business travel expected, mainly domestic, approximately 30% of the time.
