About the Opportunity

This position is based onsite at Alverno College, with relocation assistance available.

Ellucian is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to work onsite at Alverno College in Wisconsin. The CIO will advise the campus community on innovative technology initiatives, lead technology and communication strategies, and ensure alignment with the college’s strategic goals. The role requires a professional with strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, capable of fostering collaboration and driving transformation across the institution.

Drive technology transformation and change within the institution.
Build positive relationships with leadership, faculty, staff, and students.
Establish and oversee the goals, policies, and procedures of the IT division.
Maintain professionalism and proactive collaboration with executive leadership.
Communicate strategic priorities and implementation plans.
Implement and communicate a college-wide technology governance process.
Manage technology projects, resources, and deadlines.
Stay informed on higher education issues and technology trends.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Represent industry expertise within Ellucian and the broader community.

What you will bring

10+ years of experience in IT, with leadership in strategic initiatives in higher education.
Experience in small or private college settings preferred.
Experience serving on campus executive teams.
Broad knowledge of higher education technology, with high emotional intelligence.
Familiarity with Ellucian systems, preferably Colleague.
Strong management and collaboration skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
