Job Summary - Mission
The Director of Proposals, Pricing, and Contracting is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's proposal development, pricing strategies, and contract management. This position plays a critical role in driving new business growth, ensuring market competitiveness, and enhancing the company's long-term viability through effective contracting practices.
You will play a key role in strengthening internal relationships and driving commercial excellence across three core areas: proposals, pricing, and contracting. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and direct interaction with customers to support strategic negotiations and deliver sustainable, profitable growth. You will also mentor team members to apply sound judgment and disciplined thinking in support of long-term business success.
The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative professional with strong business acumen, exceptional attention to detail, and a solid background in pricing, proposals, and contract management. Experience in the Environmental Services industry and familiarity with its customer base is strongly preferred.
This is a home-based role with required travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the Proposals team in developing high-quality, customer-focused proposals that support business development goals.
- Implement effective proposal strategies, maintain consistent templates and processes, and drive collaboration across departments to improve win rates and efficiency.
- Oversee and provide strategic pricing initiatives to enhance competitiveness and profitability.
- Guide the Pricing team in analyzing market trends, customer expectations, and deal structures.
- Partner with Sales, Finance, and Operations to ensure pricing models align with business goals and financial targets.
Contract Management
- Manage the contract negotiation and execution process in close partnership with Legal.
- Establish consistent contract management practices, support cross-functional teams on contract matters, and drive improvements that reduce risk and ensure compliance with company standards.
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Commercial executive team, contributing to long-term growth and profitability.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to anticipate impacts and guide strategic adjustments.
- Build strong customer and internal relationships, mentor high-performing teams, and promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Environmental, Chemistry, or related field required. 5 years of experience in a proposals, pricing, and contracting required. Industry experience required.
Skills:
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful proposal, pricing, and contract management strategies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex commercial and legal considerations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proficient in the use of proposal management, pricing, and contract management software and tools.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong business acumen with knowledge of market and industry drivers
- Impeccable communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Customer-centric mindset with a win-win mentality
- Previous experience with environmental services or waste management.
- Knowledge of RCRA and waste profiling highly preferred.
Remote-based with occasional travel required.

- Next, candidates will be scheduled for an in-person interview day that includes,
- 1 hour interview with 1-4 team members representing critical stakeholders for the role. This can include Sales, Operations, and/or other stakeholders.
- 30-minute interview with the Customer Experience HRBP
- 1 hour interview with the EVP, Sales Operations and Strategy.
- 30-minute interview with the VP, People and Culture.
